Trusculpt and CoolSculpting are two popular and effective methods for non-surgical fat reduction procedures. Anyone who wants their body to have a slimmer, tighter, and more sculpted look but does not want to go under the knife may be a good candidate for either of these two options.
Trusculpt and CoolSculpting are ideal for use in areas with stubborn pockets of fat that do not improve even with a healthy diet and exercise. As to which procedure will help you reach your goals, learning about their differences will help you come to an informed decision.
Method of Delivery
TruSculpt uses radiofrequency heat delivered by a very small applicator to damage fat cells in different parts of the body. The heat can be tailored according to your needs. The entire procedure can take as little as 15 minutes regardless of the area of treatment. TruSculpt can be used to treat any area of the body, which is a versatility that cannot be said for CoolSculpting.
Length of Procedure
Once the fat cells are damaged, they are longer able to hold fat. The body will then clear the fat cells out of the system, like waste products. The entire procedure for TruSculpt can take as little as 15 minutes, while CoolSculpting sessions can take anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour.
Treatment Areas
Unlike TruSculpt, CoolSculpting uses cold delivered by a rectangular device, which acts as a vacuum to damage fat cells. Similar to TruSculpt, the cold setting can be adjusted. During the procedure, the fat cells are suctioned towards the opening in the device, and then once there, the cold is applied to the fat cells. Since the device is larger than what’s used in TruSculpt, the area being treated will need to be larger for the device to suction it. Smaller areas may not be treated. Moreover, TruSculpt is highly customizable and able to target specific areas, such as love handles.
Downtime
Both TruSculpt and CoolSculpting require no downtime. However, after a CoolSculpting session, the treatment area may feel firm and cold. It takes several sessions to see the results from either procedure. Most patients start to notice results after six weeks and become most evident three months after the procedure. Each session can remove approximately 24 percent of fat cells in a treatment area.
Results
There is a difference in the results provided by TruSculpt and CoolSculpting. TruSculpt treatments tend to improve the skin’s tightness and texture, improving dimpling, which makes it an excellent option for those with cellulite, and loose skin from aging, pregnancy, or weight fluctuations. Since CoolSculpting is limited, there is no effect on the skin’s overall tightness and texture.
